E-safety Sub-Group
This sub group is responsible for ensuring a city wide response to protecting children and young people in line by engagement with schools, agencies and parents. The outcomes of the Byron report will be adapted to meet the needs of children and young people. Policy, protocols.
Role of the E- Safety Sub-group:
To ensure that procedures are in place for protecting children online, and in their use of mobile technology.
The work plans of the sub-group are being developed with a focus on education of parents and professionals; and empowerment of young people to manage the risks to which they are exposed online.
The subgroups are:

Policy and Procedures - responsible for developing policies and procedures for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and ensuring they are compliant with national requirements.

Audit - responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of work done to safeguard and promote the welfare of children

Training & Development Implementation - is a formally constituted arm of WSCB it is responsible for ensuring that single and multi-agency exist in regards to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Within this, the group undertakes annual training and development needs analysis which includes delivering a programme of multi-agency training to meet the identified needs

Serious Case Review Panel - responsible for reviewing cases where a child has died or has been seriously harmed in circumstances where abuse or neglect is know or suspected, and advising on the lessons that can be learned;
